I’m a collector of diamonds, work that is precious to me
The hardest of heaven’s perfection I am blessed to see
I guard them with the strength of an army but not in the way you’d expect
I want the whole to touch the beauty of every single diamond I collect

So I keep them all scattered on the ocean
Where everyday at sunrise they shine
If you come with eyes wide open
You can gather all the diamonds you can find
Now you can say that makes me a rich man
Never have words been so true
Looking at the world I see diamonds
So riches are just my point of view

I started out with just one simple stone and carved till there were lines upon my face
And now there is so much overflowing it’s hard to hold them all in just one place

So I keep them up in the heaven every evening
And sometimes just for fun I give them names
And when they hear the whispers of lovers
They flicker and burst into flames
Now you can say that makes me a rich man
Never have words been so true
Looking at the world I see diamonds
So riches are just my point of view

All that glitters isn’t gold, but don’t be too surprised
If behind each of our faces a diamond is disguised

Cause I keep them in the eyes of my family
My friends and every soul that ever roamed
And I’ll leave them with whoever sees them shining
When the angels come to take me home
So you can say that makes me a rich man
Never have words been so true
Looking at the world I see diamonds
So riches are just my point of view
      I am a diamond collector
And so are all of you
